A wireless network allows devices to connect to the network without the limitations of cables. The access point amplify Wi-Fi signals. This way a device can be away from a router but remain connected to the network. When you connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot in an Internet cafe, hotel, airport lounge, or other public place, you connect to that venue's wireless network.
