It's easy to take a new or updated network installation for granted. Like anything you buy, you expect an investment in something "new" to work perfectly. For a new or upgraded network, you expect performance to be exact: no interruptions, no downtime, no bottlenecks, and no loss of productivity. But there are some factors that can lead to poor performance on new networks: faulty products (connectors, cables, etc.) and improper system installation. Over the years, improvements in quality assurance processes have helped many cabling manufacturers reduce the potential for errors. As a result, improper installation is often the cause of performance problems after a new network infrastructure is installed.
