Certified installers can also meet more stringent requirements regarding what is considered a "step" for cable performance. For example, some installers accept a "star pass" as a "pass". (A "stellar pass" indicates that the measured parameter value is closer to the corresponding test limit than the guaranteed accuracy of the tester). We believe the cabling needs to cleanly pass a certified cable test with decent clearance to keep it working for the life of the installation.
